Q: What was your first job?
A: It was at Uren as a trainee trader
Q: What was the first record you bought?
A: It was … I think it was called, ‘metal guru’ and I think it was by t-rex but I am a bit vague about that.
Q: Favourite movie?
A: I have a few of them, gladiator
Q: What 3 items would you take on a desert island?
A: A cork screw- so when the bottle washed up on the sand I can open it , knife and fishing rod.
Q: Which celebrity (dead or alive) would you invite for dinner?
A: A.A. Gill
Q: Favourite animal?
A: Dog, dogs all of them
Q: What is something you are scared of?
A: Sharks
Q: Biggest pet peeve?
A: Littering
Q: What drives you?
A: A challenge
Q: If you could give your younger self some advice what would it be?
A: Follow your gut instinct so that way you can never be wrong
Q: How would you describe what you do, to new people you meet?
A: Its long winded, I say I am a food imported just to keep it simple. Then if anyone shows any interest then I will explain it.
Q: Biggest life lesson you have learnt?
A: pass
Q: What time do you get up?
A: Early, I do yoga early so am up by 5:45 am
Q: What time do you go to bed?
A: No later than 10pm
Q: If you could move to another country what would it be?
A: Chile, or am I allowed to say Scotland does that count as another country ?. Chile is a beautiful country, I love Chile.
Q: What Is your favourite meal?
A: Anything with shellfish
Q: Did you always see yourself as a business owner?
A: No, not really. Not until the opportunity presented itself
Q: What is your most memorable sale?
A: Hummm, the one I enjoyed most was selling 300 MT of IQF Serbian raspberries to a company called Lockwood canners in Lincolnshire. How many years ago was that ? I was sat up in sales room, when I got a phone call. That was enjoyable, I still remember that and I was a much younger man than I am today.

A: Its still a strawberry
Q: What did you want to be as a kid?
A: A vet
Q: One thing someone has said that has stuck with you at work?
A: Hmmm pass
Q: When did you start at Uren?
A: Oh wow, that’s caught me on the hop, it was an October and I was 22 and I am now 56, so maths? – it was 34 years ago this month, it was right after the Anuga show 34 years ago. (1985)
